Judit Pitarch Tena is 16 years old and is a native of Benassal. She is a great athlete and mountain races are already part of her life. He is currently studying first for Baccalaureate and, although he is not sure what to study in the future, he always prioritizes studies over any career or training. He likes history, humanities, helping people and of course, the mountains. As she herself points out, she is passionate about nature. The young Benassalenca started in the world of racing more than two years ago and her first race was a half marathon on asphalt in Castelló. “At kilometer 10 I already wanted to leave it but my head guided me and I saw that I could. The rest of the kilometers I enjoyed a lot and I finished very well ”, remembers Judit. For this reason, and thanks to her perseverance, she was proclaimed regional champion of mountain races in the female cadet category after winning a race in Crevillent, one in Banyeres de Mariola and the other in Rótova in 2020. In addition, she is also regional champion in vertical kilometer in Finestrat, with the rise of Puig Campana this same year. Thus, these awards have allowed her to be selected and go to fight for the Spanish championship. “When I am in the race I forget everything and I am very happy. It is a struggle that I do in myself, I don't like to look up, so I don't see the mountain and I think I can. It's a mental battle, ”says the young woman. Judit is very constant and has an infallible technique to be able to reach the end with the best possible time. “It is knowing how to be consistent and never think that you can't. I think I have to try because I can, I can finish the race and have a good time. It is very important to know that the head guides the legs and not vice versa ”, she says proudly. In October it will be 17 years and Judit wants to continue training hard to be able to live such enriching experiences as this one. “Going to the Spanish Championship was a dream for me. I had a great time. The atmosphere with the teammates is great and I hope to continue in this world for many years because I love it ”, she highlights. He trains for the people who have seen him grow almost every day, as long as his studies allow him to. She, an example of perseverance. Judit, with every run she knocks down the wall.
